Global Companies Set Africa’s Startups up for Success
Africa’s entrepreneurs play a significant role in creating jobs and accelerating economic growth[1]
– both of which are crucial in the current climate. Recognising the
value of these startups, two global companies are equipping
entrepreneurs enrolled in Africa's No.1 online accelerator and startup
school,
StartupCircles.ai, with the tools they will need to succeed.
Freshworks,
one of the fastest-growing unicorns backed by Google Capital, Accel,
Sequoia and Tiger Global with $400M funding and valued at over $3.5
billion,
is providing Startup Circles’ community members with $4000 in credits
on its suite of products. The company is a leading developer of
cloud-based customer and employee engagement software and is trusted by
more than 250,000 businesses across 150 countries
including Honda, Cisco, Netflix, Zoom, and TeamViewer. The community
also gets priority access to Freshworks’ startup programme which
comprises events, resources and workshops, amongst others.
Soumitra
Deshpande, Lead - Startup Partnerships & Growth at Freshworks says:
“Startups are the lifeblood of many economies around the world.
Freshworks for Startups is an initiative
to pay-it-forward to the startup community. We are glad to partner with
StartupCircles and enable the vibrant African startup ecosystem.”
Amazon
Web Services (AWS) is also contributing to members’ success by
equipping them with $5,000 in AWS Activate Credits (valid for two
years), one year of AWS Business Support
(valued at up to $1,500) and 80 credits for self-paced labs. AWS
Activate is a free programme specifically designed for startups and
early-stage entrepreneurs that provides the resources needed to get
started on AWS to help them grow their business. Activate
delivers the right mix of tools and expert support to succeed with AWS
while optimising performance, managing risk, and keeping costs under
control. AWS Business Support is offered by AWS experts and includes
architectural guidance and best practices for
startups as they build and test.
“Having
the support of global companies like AWS and Freshworks enables us to
help startups build commercially viable businesses quickly and cost
effectively. These businesses
can then go on to become big companies that employ hundreds of people -
impacting thousands more - and build economies of countries,”
concludes StartupCircles CEO, Sandras Phiri.
