DAILY NEWS Reporter
IN a move to facilitate business opportunities arising from the growing trade relationship between China and Tanzania, NIC Bank Tanzania (NICBT) has set up a China desk to ensure smooth transactions.
The NICBT Head of Corporate Banking, Mr Respige Kimati told journalists recently that being an economic superpower no one could avoid trading with China.
He was speaking on the sideline of a dinner event hosted by the Bank to strengthen their relationship with Chinese customers and encourage more of them to use the Bank’s services.
Mr Kimati said that Chinese have different investments in the country such as construction thus Tanzanians should tap the emerging opportunities from their businesses.
“Chinese are among our major customers, we decided to set up a special desk for them to cater for communication needs which hindered smooth business transactions,” he said.
Mr Kimati said that China is an important part of the world economy thus the country should also be given chance in Tanzania for both parties to benefit. He however noted that the Bank provide a wide range of financial products and services to carter for the needs of different customers.
NIC Bank Tanzania Limited is a commercial bank licensed by the Bank of Tanzania, it acquired a stake in Tanzania’s Savings and Finance (S&F) Commercial Bank in 2009 and re-branded to NIC Bank Tanzania in 2010
