COAST, Chalinze: FOUR PEOPLE have died in an accident which occurred on Thursday during the wee hours at Mapatano Village, Mbwewe Ward in Chalinze Council, Bagamoyo District, Coast Region.
The Regional Police Commander ACP Pius Lutumo confirmed the accident yesterday noting that the accident occurred when a private vehicle collided with a Lorry.
According to the RPC the private vehicle with registration numbers T. 104 CBU Toyota Prado heading to Same from Dar es Salaam driven by Nexhi Msuya who is a estimated to be aged between 45 -50 years collided with vehicle with registration numbers T.881 DWU/T. 888 DWU Scania which was travelling from Arusha to Dar es Salaam driven by Philip Mtisi (43) a resident of Mafinga.
RPC Lutumo named the deceased as Nechi Msuya, Dayana Mgeta who is estimated to be aged between 40- 45 years, a businessman and resident of Dar es Salaam, Norah Msuya who is estimated to be aged between 40-45 years of age- a lecturer at Mzumbe college, Dar es Salaam and a female passenger who has not yet been identified estimated to be aged between 30-35 years of age.
“The accident occurred when the driver with Prado tried to overtake other vehicles without taking precautions and ended colliding with the Scania”, said RPC Lutumo.
The bodies of the dead have been preserved at Lugoba Hospital in Chalinze
