The Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) and
KCB Foundation have inked a deal to support micro, small and medium
enterprises under the 2jiajiri programme.
KCB
Foundation will leverage on the chambers’ wide network in 47 counties to
reach its target of enabling 10,000 new and existing entrepreneurs
annually across the country.
The Foundation will also
provide technical and business skills training, access to finance and
assets as well as mentors and networks to the MSMEs.
KNCCI
will then conduct round-table forums with the business community to
expedite job placements, on-job-training and industrial attachment for
2jiajiri beneficiaries within the respective counties.
The chamber will conduct county-level market trend analysis to
inform 2jiajiri beneficiaries of emerging market for SMEs growth and
establish business information centres at the Huduma centres in the
devolved units.
“The MoU will help tackle the problem
of unemployment faced by our youth around the country by enabling
businesses expand through the financial and technical support from KCB
Foundation,” said Kiprono Kittony, KNCCI national chairman.
