Distributor reports brisk sales of the new iPhone X

A distributor of Apple products, Redington Gulf Kenya Ltd, claims to have sold over 1,000 units of the most advanced smartphone yet — iPhone X —just one week after the launch.
This means that iPhone X sales in Kenya have hit over Sh150 million in a week considering there are other retailers like Salute iWorld and Safaricom
.
The new iPhone X features an OLED screen which allows for facial recognition technology enabling users to unlock the device and applications using their faces.
It is currently retailing at between $1250 (Sh129,000) and $1800 (Sh186,000).
“Kenyans are embracing technology and many are going for the smartest devices they can get in the market. We are glad to announce that over 75 shops in the country have iPhone X on their shelves and Safaricom has the phone in all their stores,” said Sajan Thomas, Redington Business Head East Africa.
“This amazing device has an all-screen display that precisely follows the curve of the device with no border allowance. The entire face of the phone is a screen.”
Apple 5.8 inch super retina display phone comes in silver and space grey colours, all-glass front and back featuring a durable glass with a polished, surgical-grade stainless steel band wrapping around and reinforcing the phone.
It boasts of an iOS 11 operating system with seven Megapixel (MP) TrueDepth camera and an improved 12MP rear camera.
