Retirement literacy is abysmally low in the U.S. Only 35 percent
of men -- and an even worse percentage of women (17 percent) -- age 60
and over passed a basic quiz on how to make their savings last the rest
of their lives, according to a recent study conducted by The American
College. The survey results provide even more evidence of a fundamental
disconnect that older Americans have about retirement planning. Despite
their low retirement literacy, more than half of all women (55 percent)
are still extremely confident that they and their spouses would have
enough money to retire comfortably. Go figure. Apparently, they think
