HF Group through its subsidiary HF Insurance Agency (HFIA) and Britam have launched a medical cover with a high age limit of 75 years.
The cover dubbed Afyamed incorporates both inpatient and outpatient packages with members accessing benefits for as low as Sh20,000 annually.
Most medical covers in Kenya have an age limit of 65 years and only the National Hospital Insurance Fund is covering people above 70.
The product has a minimum cover of Sh200,000 and a limit of Sh5 million for inpatient.
“Many families today lack access to quality healthcare as most health covers are designed to meet the needs of corporate customers.”
“This cover, which we have developed in partnership with Britam, will open up health cover to among others young families, retirees and also the self-employed,” HFIA head of business development Francis Kinyanjui said on Thursday.
The cover will also be available in South Sudan and Rwanda and cater for treatment in India or South Africa for services not available locally.
