THE Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange equity market turnover weakened by 44 percent, closing this week at 228m/- compared to 406.46m/- posted on the previous week.
The top trading equities that dominated
the market share in this week were Tanzania Breweries Ltd (TBL) at 33
percent, followed by Mwalimu Commercial Bank (MCB) at 20 percent and the
self-listed Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) at 18 percent.
Others in the list include Mkombozi
Commercial Bank (MKCB) at 9percent, CRDB Bank PLC at 7 percent and
Tanzania Cigarette Company (TCC) at 5 percent. None of the domestic
equities value per share appreciated this week compared to last week.
Although, top loser for this week was
DSE, depreciating in value by 5.66 percent, closing this week at 1,000/-
per share. Total market capitalisation increased by 5.15 percent,
closing this week at 19.95bn/-. D
omestic market capitalisation decreased
by 0.02 percent to close at 7.10bn/- Comparatively, key benchmark
indices were in the green and red territory close off this week. The
Tanzania Share Index (TSI) capped at 3,380.83points, down by 0.02
percent.
The All Share Index (DSEI) closed at
2,293.66points, up by 5.15 percent compared to last week. Similarly, two
out of the three sector indices remained constant as the preceding to
close off this week.
Industrial & Allied Index and
Commercial Services Sector Index remained constant, closing at 4,194.29
points and 3,137.02 points, respectively. Banks, Finance and Investment
index closed at 2,642.12 down by 0.06 percent.
