Fear grips Mpanda as walls are painted with fresh ‘human’ blood

RESIDENTS of Nsemlwa at Mpanda Municipality in Rukwa Region are forced to sleep in the early hours of night for three consecutive days after unknown people painted doors and walls of their houses with what is believed to be fresh human blood or animals.

The houses of the Nsemlwa Ward official and that of the Nsemlwa Street Chairman are among the 300 houses whose walls and doors were painted with fresh blood all from five streets in Selma precinct.
Nsemlwa Ward Executive Officer (WEO), Mr Jumbe Mselwa, told the ‘Daily News’ that the shocking incident occurred at the midnight of last Sunday after unknown people went around silently painting houses with fresh blood.
Mr Mselwa confirmed that the chairmen from five streets at Nsemlwa ward alerted him over the incident. “I rushed to the area and I was shocked to see that walls and doors of the houses were painted with blood.
He added: ‘’Strangely enough, even the inside walls were also painted with blood and that happened while the doors were tightly closed from inside,” he explained.
Mr Jumbe identified five streets whose houses have been painted with blood including Kichangani, Migazini, Kilimani Tulieni and Nsemlwa. On his part, Nsemlwa Street Chairman, Mr Adam Masigati, admitted that his house was among the houses dyed with fresh blood.
Mr Msagati narrated to this newspaper an incident in which one of the residents suddenly saw a drop of fresh blood falling near him while having his evening meal inside his house. Narrating the incident, Raphael George said on the material evening at around 6:00 pm while he was partaking his meal suddenly fresh blood dropped near him.
He said he was so shocked that he called his daughter, Maselina Joseph, to witness it.
Both were baffled and they raised an alarm. Curious crowd rushed to the scene of incident and witnessed huge number of flies feasting on the fresh blood, they reported the matter to the local functionaries at the precinct.
Raphael’s wife Judith Joseph who was absent during the happening said when she returned home she was shocked to see all members of her family were greatly disturbed.
A similar sentiment was echoed by one Wasitala Ferusi that they were now compelled to stay indoors fearing for their lives
