The VP said this when participating at
the Uhuru Day celebration by cleaning instead of usual army parade. Ms
Suluhu said at Coco Beach that the companies should not capitalise on
the campaign and fail to conduct their contract obligations.
“The companies are paid a lot of money
to keep the city clean, they should not make this as an excuse to not
performing,” Ms Suluhu said. She also said the local government leaders
could plan and dedicate a day for the cleaning exercise to make it a
continuity assignment.
The President John Magufuli directive
cancelled the Uhuru Day celebration and called for the nation to
participate on cleaning as it is shame to celebrate while the country is
confronted with cholera disease—bone out of dirtiness.
