Diesel prices increased by Sh1.27 to Sh104.52 a litre putting pressure on the cost of goods in the festive season as Petrol and Kerosene costs rose by a fraction of a shilling.

The prices of Petrol rose by Sh0.41 to Sh109.28 a litre in Nairobi while the cost Kerosene increased by Sh0.28 to Sh83.07 due to the weakening of the exchange rate despite a drop in crude oil prices.
The shilling deteriorated from Sh85.23 to Sh86.21 against the US dollar while crude oil prices dropped minimally by $0.25 (Sh21) a barrel between October and November.

Crude prices have remained relatively stable in the 12 months todate helping to stabilize consumer prices and shielding the shilling from volatility.
