
SINGAPORE: GLOBAL investment firm Temasek Holdings has expressed interest in exploring broader investment opportunities in Tanzania as discussions continue to strengthen economic cooperation between the two sides.
The development emerged during talks between Tanzania’s Ambassador to Singapore, resident in Jakarta, Macocha Tembele, and Temasek’s Head of Institutional Relations for Southeast Asia, Chua Eu Jin, held during the envoy’s recent working visit to Singapore.
The meeting between the two leaders focused on expanding investment partnerships and highlighting Tanzania’s potential in strategic economic sectors.
During the discussions, Ambassador Tembele reaffirmed the government of Tanzania’s commitment to attracting strategic investments and emphasised the importance of closer collaboration with Singapore’s investment institutions.

He also commended the investment made in Tanzania by Pavilion Energy, a subsidiary of Temasek, particularly in the natural gas sector, saying the investment demonstrates strong confidence by Singaporean investors in Tanzania’s economic prospects.
The ambassador further invited Temasek Holdings to expand its investment portfolio in Tanzania, particularly in energy, infrastructure, the digital economy, financial services, and modern agriculture.

For his part, Chua Eu Jin outlined Temasek’s investment structure and strategy, noting that the company holds equity in major Singaporean firms and also makes direct investments in global markets.
He said Temasek focuses on key sectors, including digital technology, infrastructure, energy, and sustainable projects, aimed at delivering long-term value.
Both sides underscored the need to build long-term investment partnerships, exchange development experience, and continue dialogue on potential areas of economic cooperation.
