ARUSHA – Aviation chiefs from across Africa are meeting in Arusha, Tanzania to deliberate innovative strategies to boost the continent’s aviation sector.
Tanzania’s Transport Minister Prof. Makame Mbarawa told the delegates on Wednesday that joint efforts are needed to accelerate Africa’s advancements in the aviation industry.
“It’s an honor for our country to host this pivotal meeting. I am confident that your discussions will lead to decisions that benefit our entire continent,” he stated, underscoring the meeting’s importance at a time when public awareness of air travel is on the rise.
President of the African Civil Aviation Commission, Mr. Silas Udahemuka, expressed his gratitude to Tanzania for hosting the event urging delegates to seize the opportunity to address and overcome the sector’s challenges through constructive dialogue.

The two-day conference, running from June 5-6 at the Gran Melia Hotel in Arusha, will also include a visit to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This excursion is part of efforts to promote tourism in Tanzania, adding a cultural and environmental dimension to the event.
Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) Director General, Mr. Hamza Johari, highlighted that the conference is not just about tackling challenges. It is also about forming a unified African voice in international forums, ensuring the continent’s aviation interests are well-represented and protected.
