Samia leads transformative governance with strategic appointments

In a strategic effort to improve governance and efficiency within the administration, President Samia Suluhu Hassan has orchestrated new appointments and reshuffled existing leaders.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on June 6, 2024, by Chief Secretary Amb. Dr. Moses Kusiluka, revealing President Samia’s appointment of Stanslaus Nyongo as the Deputy Minister of the President’s Office for Planning and Investment.

The statement further indicated that the Head of State has also appointed Felister Mdemu as deputy permanent secretary for the Community Development, Gender, Women and Special Groups ministry - responsible in gender and women.

Prior to her appointment, Mdemu worked as President’s aide, responsible for social development.

On the other hand, Amon Mpanju has been appointed as the Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Community Development, Gender, Women, and Special Groups, with a specific focus on community development and special groups.

Zuhura Yunus, previously the State House Presidential Communications Director, has been appointed as the Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office - Labour, Youth, Employment, and People with Disabilities.

The statement further explained that President Samia has appointed Petro Magoti as the Kisarawe District Commissioner, a role he takes on after serving as an aide in politics to the President.

On the contrary, the President has reassigned Fatma Nyangasa, the former Kisarawe District Commissioner, to Kondoa where she will serve in a similar role.

Furthermore, President Samia has appointed Musa Kitungi as the Mafia District Executive Director (DED).

Additionally, President Samia has appointed Nehemia Mandia as a High Court judge, moving from his previous role as an aide to the President in the legal field.
