DODOMA: SPEAKER of Parliament Dr Tulia Ackson has commended financial institutions for supporting the country’s development endeavours that are fundamental in improving living standards.
Dr Tulia was speaking during an Iftar organised by NMB Bank that brought together legislators, bank customers and orphans from two Orphanages of Zam Zam and Darul Maarifa.
“I commend NMB for being at the forefront in supporting various development initiatives across the country but also for this generous and positive gesture that seeks to give back to communities,” she said.
She added, “I believe that the bank’s efforts to support various communities will bear fruits soon as NMB has been creating a bond with the needy during this holy month of Ramadan,” Earlier, NMB Chief Financial Officer Juma Kimori said the event was part of the bank’s long-time tradition of organising Iftar events as a sign of gratitude to its customers for continued trust.
“Organising Iftar events is our long-time tradition and we believe that such gestures bring us closer to our esteemed clients and communities,” he said.
On his part, the NMB Chairman Dr Edwin Mhede said the month of Ramadan should be used to nurture a generation of people who have fear of God.
He said the bank believes in mutual engagements with all its stakeholders adding that such engagements provide a platform for the bank to get feedback to enhance service delivery.
