Tree planting top agenda in Kisheru Jungle Party’s fifth edition

KILIMANJARO: Environmental awareness and tree planting are among the activities planned to feature in the fifth edition of the Kisheru Jungle Party.

The three-day event is set to take place in Hai District, Kilimanjaro from March 29th to 31st.

Briefing the Daily News Digital on Tuesday, the event’s Managing Director, Ms Saraphina Minde, says it is a multi-day celebration of music, art, and nature.

“It aims at bringing different people together to reconnect with nature, interact, boost their creativity, share and exchange their cultures and experiences in the most beautiful ways.

“The jungle party will not only be a fun and memorable event but also a platform to inspire environmental awareness and actions within the community.

“On the first day of the event (March 29th), I will educate the people around Boma Ng’ombe on the importance of taking care of the environment.” Ms Minde says.

“I will also teach them about the positive impacts of planting trees on the environment, especially due to the ongoing climate changes.

“We will plant trees at a newly built health center in Boma Ng’ombe and provide dustbins to keep the Kikuletwa hot spring clean,” she says.

She adds, “We are targeting everyone interested in exploring, spending time, and having fun in nature, especially the locals, and for the artists who need a platform to showcase their talents since we will have time to sing, dance, and paint at the event.
