· Dar es Salaam. CRDB Bank has launched a new SimBanking App as part of efforts to
improve access to banking and other financial services for its customers. The App utilises cutting-edge technology that caters to customers’ needs.The
lender said in a statement released yesterday that the new digital application
has been developed through a combination of modern and state-of-the-art
technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI).
“The
technology used in this SimBanking App empowers
the customer to choose the service layout according to their preferences.
Moreover, the technology has the capability to identify the services that the
customer prefers the most, making it easier for them to access,” CRDB’s chief
financial officer, Mr Fredrick Nshekanabo, said in the statement.
“We
are using biometric technology to ensure customer security,” stated Mr
Nshekanabo. CRDB’s senior manager for digital services and innovation, Ms
Jacklina Jackson, said that the App will also offer investment opportunities to
customers by enabling them to invest through digital Fixed Deposit accounts.
“Customers
can now schedule fund transfers and recurring payments easily. Transfers can be
scheduled daily, weekly, or monthly. We have improved transaction records, and
customers can easily access receipts for all transactions at any time,” she
said.
Regarding
payments, she mentioned that the SimBanking App has enhanced digital payment
services by enabling payment collections through the application. Customers can
authorise payments using a one-time passcode.
“We
have also improved insurance services by increasing the speed and accessibility
of these services,” she added.
Furthermore,
the new SimBanking App comes with a loyalty programme that allows customers to
earn points whenever they use the application and redeem rewards. Customers can
also provide feedback on the services they use.
