·        Dar es Salaam.  CRDB Bank has launched a new SimBanking App as part of efforts to

improve access to banking and other financial services for its customers. The App utilises cutting-edge technology that caters to customers’ needs.

The lender said in a statement released yesterday that the new digital application has been developed through a combination of modern and state-of-the-art technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI).

“The technology used in this SimBanking App empowers the customer to choose the service layout according to their preferences. Moreover, the technology has the capability to identify the services that the customer prefers the most, making it easier for them to access,” CRDB’s chief financial officer, Mr Fredrick Nshekanabo, said in the statement.

Mr Nshekanabo said another area of great importance that CRDB has focused on in the new SimBanking App is the security and safety of customer information and transactions.

“We are using biometric technology to ensure customer security,” stated Mr Nshekanabo. CRDB’s senior manager for digital services and innovation, Ms Jacklina Jackson, said that the App will also offer investment opportunities to customers by enabling them to invest through digital Fixed Deposit accounts.

“Customers can now schedule fund transfers and recurring payments easily. Transfers can be scheduled daily, weekly, or monthly. We have improved transaction records, and customers can easily access receipts for all transactions at any time,” she said.

Regarding payments, she mentioned that the SimBanking App has enhanced digital payment services by enabling payment collections through the application. Customers can authorise payments using a one-time passcode.

“We have also improved insurance services by increasing the speed and accessibility of these services,” she added.

Furthermore, the new SimBanking App comes with a loyalty programme that allows customers to earn points whenever they use the application and redeem rewards. Customers can also provide feedback on the services they use.
