THE Ministry of Health has announced 247 job vacancies for health personnel to
work in various medical fields, especially in areas with critical shortage of the professionals.The ministry announced the vacancies after obtaining an employment permit from the President’s Office Public Service Management and Good Governance.
According to the ministry’s announcement signed by the Permanent Secretary Dr Seif Shekalaghe the successful applicants will be posted to the areas with critical shortage of the experts.
He noted that any successful applicant who will be assigned to a respective health facility will not have a working station changed.
He said the areas in which the health workers will be assigned include 15 regional referral hospitals in Kigoma, Katavi, Sumbawanga;
Songwe, Njombe, Ruvuma, Mtwara, Lindi, Simiyu; Geita, Shinyanga, Tabora, Singida, Manyara and Mara.
Other health facilities to benefit from the new employees are zonal hospitals of Chato and Mtwara, Kibong’oto Infectious Disease Hospital and health centres.
He cautioned that applicants should be ready to be assigned to the areas identified, cautioning that those who are not ready to go should not apply.
According to the ministry’s announcement, the needed health personnel include 30 medical specialists II who have completed and passed Form Four, Six, Diploma, Masters of Dentistry or PhD in medicine from recognised universities.
Others are medical doctor II (15), dentists II (10), pharmacist II (10), nursing officer II (15), and assistant nursing officer II (40), medical laboratory technologist and radiographer II (15), technologist II (48) which will include laboratory, radiography, dentist and medicine, biomedical engineering (II) (10), biomedical equipment technician II (15), physiotherapists II (10), environment officer II (10), assistant environment officer II (15) among others.
The PS said the applicants have been given two weeks from the date of announcement of the vacancies April 20 to May 4 this year. He urged the applicants to observe all the requirements.
Recently, the government announced 21,200 new employment opportunities in both education and health sectors.
The new jobs were announced by the Minister of State in the President’s Office, Regional Administration and Local Government, Angellah Kairuki.
According to the minister, out of the announced new employment opportunities, 13,130 have been allocated for teachers, while the remaining 8,070 will be up for grabs by health workers.
The new opportunities, according to her, were open for Tanzanians holding certificate, diploma and degree education levels.
Those aspiring to be teachers, she added, should have graduated between 2015 and 2022 and not aged more than 45 years. In the health sector, the minister said,applicants should also not be above 45 years.
“All applications should be sent online via www.ajira.tamisemi.go.tz and I want to be specific that applications that will be sent via portal address or brought physically will not be accepted,” she noted.
However, Ms Kairuki warned applicants to beware of conmen and women who have always been luring them to part with money so that they could be assisted in securing jobs.
According to her, those who had already applied in the previously announced jobs also have an option to harmonise their information in the provided website and apply afresh.
The qualifications for those seeking to grab the new jobs are-one must be Tanzanian aged not more than 45 years, must have reached Form Four/Six and has a certificate from a college/ higher learning institution recognised by the government or with valid practicing licence and should not be found in any government payroll, among others.
