ACT to undergo rebranding next year, says Zitto

Dar es Salaam. The opposition ACT-Wazalendo said yesterday it will..

rebrand by reforming its policies and the party’s leadership structure next year.

Speaking during the official opening of ACT-Wazalendo’s new headquarters in Magomeni, Dar esc Salaam, party leader Zitto Kabwe said the decision to have their own head office was testimony to the party’s goals and ambitions.

“With this new head office, we’re showing that ACT Wazalendo is more than ready and capable of taking over the administration of this country. We seek to create new policies that will provide answers to the challenges that our people are facing,” he said.

Mr Kabwe added that the party would undergo reforms, possibly next year, by introducing new policies and administration structure.

“As a sign of honouring and embracing the legacy of the late Maalim Seif Sharif Hamad, who was the chairperson of ACT Wazalendo and the First Vice President of the Government of National Unity in Zanzibar, we have named our head office after him,” he revealed.

Maalim Seif Sharif Hamad’s widow, Mama Aweina, was present during the event.

Hamad died last year at the age of 77, while undergoing treatment for Covid-19.

Mr Kabwe said that the next move will be to build the sub-office in Zanzibar and followed by regional and district offices, and urged all well-wishers to continue supporting the party.

Earlier, ACT-Wazalendo chairperson Juma Duni Haji challenged the government to work on the proposals collected by the presidential special task force formed to coordinate views on the best way of conducting multiparty politics in the country.

“The report is in fact Tanzanians’ views. The government needs to work on them. We want to conduct politics where the environment is conducive to everyone,” he said.

Mr Haji’s reaction comes at a time when the task force has already handed over its report to President Samia Suluhu Hassan after ten months of coordinating views by stakeholders from different groups across Tanzania Mainland and Zanzibar.
