Isuzu East Africa has re-entered the Tanzanian market with the opening of a dealership run by its new distributor — Al Mansour Auto EA (Tanzania) Limited.
The Japanese vehicle manufacturer, which was previously represented in Tanzania by Quality Motors Limited, had been absent in the market for three years.
“We are excited to re-establish our presence in Tanzania through our dealer Al Mansour Auto Limited,” Rita Kavashe, Isuzu chief executive officer, said in a statement.
“Working with Al Mansour, our long-term goal is to meet our customer requirements, offering innovative transport solutions and robust aftersales value as a trusted logistics partner.”
Al Mansour has invested about $1 million (Sh110 million) to set up the business in Dar es Salaam which has started selling the Japanese automaker’s range of commercial vehicles such as trucks and pick-ups.
Mr Ankush Arora, the chief operating officer at Al Mansour Group, said the dealership will benefit from the popularity of the Isuzu brand in the East African region where it accounts for more than 40 per cent of new vehicle sales.
Buyers of Isuzu vehicles are active in diverse economic sectors ranging from education, agriculture, construction, public transport and security.
