Mango Telecom on Wednesday, November 11 relaunched unlimited 4G (Fourth Generation) internet packages, this time with improved connectivity and higher speed.

Unlimited plans had been cancelled in July following customer complaints mostly about low speed and tethering. The new products, however, are the answer to those challenges.

The firm introduced three new tailor-made plans.

The first plan, the Monthly Unlimited E-Learning Plan (MUEP), is designed for students, teachers and all education practitioners, says Eric Niyomugabo, the General Manager of Mango.

One MUEP package gives you 1GB per day and full 4G speed.

Additional benefits of MUEP include 3Mbps unlimited access to all educational sites and platforms and, once you exhaust your 1GB, you can keep surfing the internet with a speed of 128Kbps.

The package costs Rwf28,000 a month.

Another MUEP, at Rwf40,000 every month, you get 2GB every day which totals to 60GB per month plus all the additional benefits and a speed of 256Kbps when the daily data is exhausted.

Some of the e-learning sites exempted for MUEP packages include links to Google apps such as Meet, Canvas, Classroom and Hangout. Users can also browse on Seesaw, Khanacademy, Reading A-Z, Monecole.fr, Microsoft Team and Showbie among others.

The decision to introduce MUEP packages was informed by the fact that the Covid-19 pandemic has forced many people to adopt e-learning.

The second product introduced by Mango is the Monthly Unlimited Isange Plan (MUIP) business plan. The cost of the package has been slashed to Rwf33,000 from Rwf40,000. It also offers 2GB per day. When the daily bundle runs out, you can stay online at a 256Kbps speed.

“This product is the best for anyone in their daily businesses either at work, at home and anywhere,” said Fabiola Mwamini in charge of customer care at Mango.

The third new product dubbed Iyatse is a daily plan that, at Rwf600, gives a user 500MB of 4G internet.

“We used to have an unlimited plan at Rwf 6,000 but customers expressed that it should be made better. We took some time to improve it and now here we are with improved unlimited 4G packages,” Niyomugabo said at a press conference.

He assured that the new products are far better than the previous unlimited plan and at low cost as per other internet providers.

Mango said that some complaints about the old product came from people who wanted to use it on several devices or in a router, which turned impossible because it was simply a joypack to be used in one smartphone.

The new plans, however, can be shared and used on any device.

Mango Telecom has expanded its footprints with 27 branches countrywide. The expansion allows the company to smoothen customer service. Queries and orders can also be placed via the company’s toll free line 2550, WhatsApp 0786666666 and social platforms of Mango 4G.

Among other products, the company provides wireless monitoring cameras that can be connected to your smartphone, a feature phone that receives and shares 4G signals as well as mobile and wired routers.
