Tanzania’s Health minister Ummy Mwalimu has announced that two more patients have recovered from coronavirus.
“I am delighted to inform the public that two more patients for Covid-19 have tested negative in
all three tests taken… they have recovered from the pandemic. One is in Dar es Salaam and the other in Arusha,” Ms Mwalimu said on Tuesday afternoon.
The country’s total recoveries now stand at five.
Ms Mwalimu added that in the past 24 hours no case had been confirmed.
Tanzania has 24 Covid-19 cases after four were confirmed on Monday in the commercial hub Dar es Salaam, semi-autonomous island Zanzibar and the northwest city of Mwanza on the shores of Lake Victoria.
Since the outbreak more than 200 samples have been tested, both Zanzibar and mainland Tanzania, 366 people traced, 72 placed under mandatory quarantine, while 375 others have completed their 14-day isolation period, according to the health ministry.
