women’s human rights, Women’s March Global and its 100+ chapters and
members will be hosting women’s rights marches around the world. The
theme of this year’s event, March For Our Human Rights, will focus on
bodily autonomy, the right to self-governance over one’s own body
without coercion or external pressures. We will take to the streets to
bring international attention to the challenges women face in exercising
sovereignty over their own bodies, empowering them to overcome systemic
discrimination and defend their universal human rights.
What:
Women’s March Global’s annual march is a yearly event that brings
together international change-makers committed to fighting for women’s
human rights.
When: Saturday, 18 January 2020
Where:
Marches will be held in 23 countries across the world including
Switzerland, France, Nigeria, Canada, Zimbabwe, Kenya, USA, The
Netherlands, Bulgaria, United Kingdom, Norway, Germany, Brazil, Italy,
Greece and the Federated States of Micronesia. Due to the bushfires in
Australia, a WEBINAR/RALLY on climate change will be held in lieu of a
march.
Who:
Women’s March Global’s network includes over 100 chapters and thousands
of members across the world. Women and allies fighting for the
advancement of women’s human rights will be participating in global
marches.
