Robert Kiplagat Disquiet has hit the Maasai Mara University in Narok County following Sunday's expose by Citizen TV on the looting of public coffers at the institution. The special investigative piece dubbed "The Mara Heist" that aired in the 7 and 9pm bulletins put the university's management on the spot over
allegation of misappropriation of Sh190 million over a period of time. A spot check by The Standard on Monday established small groups of people discussing the revelations albeit in low tones. However, operations at the institution were as normal.

"All is well. We are in office as usual. Whatever the expose intended to achieve will not deter us from conducting our duties,"said one lecturer. He said there was more than meets-the- eye on the investigative story and that the motive should be probed. The whistleblower, the university's acting Finance Manager Spencer Sankale , revealed how the Vice Chancellor Prof Mary Walingo's driver, Hassan Noor was used as conduit in the heist. University's Corporate Affairs Officer Amos Kemboi told The Standard that all was well at the varsity despite the expose. "Everything is okay here. The university is peaceful and currently admitting first year students who have started reporting," said Mr Kemboi. He also added that the university is busy preparing to host a two-day International Science and Research Conference. Netizens however took to social media to satirize the 'big cow' that needed grass depicting the Varsity's VC as the cow while the grass meaning money as quoted in the expose.
