The taxman is set to destroy motor vehicles and an assortment of goods in its custody that importers have failed to claim.
Through
a Kenya Gazette notice published last Friday, the customs department
said unidentified
traders who imported goods including sex toys and creams have a month to lodge their claim and pay for the goods or suffer losses because they will be destroyed.

The chief
manager-in-charge of Rift Valley Simon Luseno said they were holding
6,000 tablets of the enhancement pill Vigrx Plus, 35 pieces of Viagra
(50mg), nine pieces of Cialis 20mg, Magic Chocolate Vimax, pornographic
materials, artificial male organs, vibrator and arousal cream all
imported via Eldoret International Airport.
The notice does not disclose owners of the products but mentioned they were destined for Nakuru, Kenya’s fourth largest town.
“Notice
is given that unless the under-mentioned goods are entered and removed
from the custody of the Customs Warehouse Keeper, Eldoret and Nakuru
within thirty (30) days of this notice, they will be treated as
abandoned and will be disposed of by crushing on April 17, 2019," said
the KRA.
Other items slated for crushing includes a
Toyota Carina saloon registered in Uganda, reportedly owned by an MP
from Nakuru County and which lacked documentary evidence of having duty
paid allowing its continued use on Kenyan roads.
Mr Luseno said there are 69 vehicles held at police stations with fake registration numbers.
