Financial Sector
Deepening Trust (FSDT) has today launched a data lab dubbed 'Finsights
Lab' that oversees and works on quality of financial services in the
country.
The launch took place at Julius Nyerere
International Conference Center (JNICC) in Dar es Salaam. Speaking
during the event, FSDT's Director General Sostenes Kewe said the lab is
aimed at using data to improve the availability of financial services to
Tanzanians.
"This is to support the National Financial
Inclusion goal to reach 75pc by 2022 from the current 65pc of financial
services users in the country," he said.
He added that the lab will work to attain
both availability of the services along and the quality of those
services by involving users directly.
Repoa's Senior Researcher, Blandina
Kilamba said the move will enable Tanzanians to get all necessary
information about financial services and know how to use them in their
daily basis.
"This will highly contribute towards economy growth of the country," she added.
