THIS
year, Huawei a leading global information and communications technology
(ICT) solutions has run a two-week educational experience language
training to share and expose Chinese culture.
The
remark was made recently by Permanent Secretary (PS) in the Ministry of
Education, Science,
Technology and Vocational Training, Mr Leonard
Akwilapo, while presiding over an opening ceremony held in Shenzhen,
China, as the guest of honour.
He
said show demonstrated how Huawei was committed to contribute to higher
education in Tanzania as well as the country’s future in the ICT
sector.
The
PS He pointed out that “the program will enrich our students’ school
experience and prepare them to work in the telecommunications companies,
further sharing the Huawei’s experience on processes which harbors
dynamic global business environment in China.”
He
further remarked that Huawei’s ‘Seeds for the Future’ will enable the
students gain an understanding of the latest skills needed to be
successful in ICT, and experience latest information while in China,
saying : “And what it is like to work in a global, cross-cultural
business environment.”
During
the occasion, the students shared their views with some pointing out
that they visited spectacular tourism sites like the Great Wall,
Forbidden City, Summer Palace Museums and Splendid China. Some said the
trip to the country had also enabled them to experience Chinese culture
through various types of food, language, calligraphy and painting.
Others
remarjed that it was a great program that enabled the youth to expand
knowledge and practice in ICT with up-todate technology.
“During
our tour in China, we were able to see how Huawei is focused on
innovation; the training we received put us on the right track to advice
telecom companies or even the government on the advancement of our
technology to cope with global standards,” one participant remarked/ In
2016, Huawei launched the program to nurture professionals in Tanzania
through the seeds for the future programme, where it also hopes to
provide an opportunity for Tanzanian youth to visit Beijing and work,
besides studying at its headquarters in Shenzhen.
