The Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) has
appointed the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI)
chairman Kiprono Kittony, Kenya Association of Stockbrokers and
Investments Banks chairman Paul Mwai and former managing director of
Centum Business Solutions Ltd Risper Alaro-Mukoto to its board of
directors.
The appointment of the three as
non-executive members comes days after the exit of Centum Group chief
executive James Mworia from the NSE board.
Veteran
investment banker Jimnah Mbaru and Certified Public Accountant Winnie
Iminza Nyamute also left the NSE as non-executive directors.
“The
board appreciates the outgoing directors for their diligent service
over the years, which has greatly contributed to the growth of NSE,”
said the company in a public notice on Friday.
Mr Kitonny is the current chairman of KNCCI.
He is also the chairman of the boards of CreditInfo CRB Kenya Ltd, AAR Insurance Ltd, Mtech Ltd and Radio Africa Group.
20 years' experience
Mr Mwai has more than 20 years’ experience in financial service industry including fund management and investment banking.
Ms
Mukoto on the other hand is an experienced financial and business
leader in the investment and financial sectors and is currently a
practising Certified Executive Coach.
She is a former managing director of Centum Business Solutions Limited.
Actis
East Africa managing director Michael Turner and Diamond Trust Bank CEO
Nasim Devji have also been re- appointed as non-executive directors of
the company in a special meeting of the board of directors held on May
31.
Mr Samuel Kimani and Mr Bob Kirina on the other hand retained their positions as chairman and vice chairman respectively.
