Tanzania has partnered with itel mobile to introduce affordable
smartphones to promote usage of internet which is key to building robust
economic growth.
Airtel Marketing Director Isack Nchunda
said Airtel is happy to enter into this important partnership with itel
to launch in the market its latest affordable smartphone.
“We have considered our customers’ needs
and purchasing power to unveil the itel smartphones that target middle
income earners,” he said adding "we are certain our customers across the
country will have the best experience using our services with the new
smartphone itel A32 F device.
" With an increase in smartphone users, Mr
Nchunda said Airtel and itel have created a meaningful partnership to
provide access for more Tanzanians enjoy a digital world by introducing
new and affordable smartphone.
As of December last year, the number of internet users has increased to 22,995,109 which represent 45 per cent penetration.
With internet connectivity, many more
technological innovations and enabling capabilities such as payments
platforms are emerging while the ability to connect more people and
things as well as engaging them deeply continue to expand exponentially.
With smartphones, small scale farmers,
individual consumers and small, upstart entrepreneurs can now get
information about best practices and new developments of the activities
undertaken.
