AT LEAST 400 people are expected to take part in a one-day annual forum to discuss creation of an integrated economy in Dodoma mid-next month.
The event, Annual Economic Empowerment Forum, designed to bring together participants from public and private sectors under ‘Industrialisation a Pillar for Economic Empowerment’ theme.

The National Economic Empowerment Council (NEEC), Executive Secretary, Ms Beng'i Issa, said the forum intends to create an opportunity to learn different methods of promoting the country’s economic development.
“The forum, among other things, is expected to provide an opportunity for stakeholders to share experience in various aspects of the economy as well as stimulate the development of the nation,” said Ms Beng’i.
The forum will also be attended by ministries, regional commissioners, small and medium entrepreneurs (SMEs).
The forum also, Ms Beng’I said, will make a follow up on policy implementation of economic empowerment to the people.
“This year’s forum is going to carry a different perspective featuring a much bigger audience.
“The platform will also be used to stimulate the growth of industrialisation as well as provide opportunities to broaden their networking towards a middle-income economy by the year 2025,” she noted. Prime Minister (PM), Mr Kassim Majaliwa is expected to be a guest of honour at this year forum.
The forum is sponsored by the Tanzania Standard (Newspapers) Limited (TSN) the publishers of Daily News, Sunday News, HabariLeo, Habari Leo Jumapili and SpotiLeo.
Elaborating on their sponsorship, TSN Sales and Marketing Manager, Mr Januarius Maganga said besides publishing newspapers, in recent years the company has been organising business forums in a bid to open investment opportunities in the regions.
Mr Maganga said that they are going to use the platform to create awareness as well as to promote various economic opportunities which exist in the country.
“We are going to use the experience garnered in the previous event to engage a wider audience from within and outside the country because this is the second time TSN is participating in the forum,” observed Mr Maganga.
