BASF starts making chemicals locally

BASF has commissioned a production site for construction of chemicals plant in Dar es Salaam.
The production of local construction chemicals would greatly reduce supply time of innovative solutions and quality products to customers.

BASF, the world’s leading chemical company and a leading manufacturer of construction chemicals, said in a release that the plant producing Admixtures for concrete, will be run through a tolling agreement. “This investment is another very important step for BASF in Africa.
“Our involvement in the continent is growing, and a very big role is played by BASF Construction Chemicals that is looking at strategic countries with big potential, such as Tanzania” said Michael Gotsche, Vice President, Africa.
Christian Geierhaas - Vice President Construction Chemicals Middle East, West Asia, CIS & Africa said investing in Tanzania, would allow BASF Construction Chemicals to bring innovative products, technology and solutions closer to its customers in “such an important and strategic market”.
