AIRTEL Tanzania has partnered with Dar Teknohama Business Incubator (DTBi) to impart computer basic skills and technology to Dar es Salaam entrepreneurs, so as to expand their businesses through digital path.
“The initiative will create business value and enable new capabilities,” Dr Mulamula said, adding that it is so interesting to see local entrepreneurs, especially women turning in big number to acquire ICT computer skills to run their businesses digitally.
Dr Mulamula added that the ICT training will equip the entrepreneurs with knowledge of how to use straight book system, which is based in cash accounting and use it in keeping their business records.
He said the initiative is part of DTBi's wider programme that will involve various partners from private sector in supporting ICT entrepreneurship skills. “We will train them on computer basic skills to enable them to use application software’s such as Microsoft word and excel in generating cash accounting table for their business,” he said.
The training is being carried at an ICT Lab in Kijitonyama Primary School in Kinondoni municipality, under sponsorship of Airtel Tanzania in partnership with Dar Teknohama Business Incubator (DTBi).
Airtel Communication Director, Beatrice Singano Mallya, said Airtel and DTBi ICT Lab programme has attracted a large number of trainees since its launch. “We have conducted training to various groups including students in primary and secondary schools, teachers and this time extended to entrepreneurs to uplift their business,” she said.
The ICT Lab Airtel Fursa Manager Michael Thomas said women entrepreneurs are very happy and motivated to learn courses offered. He said that they have two classes for 29 entrepreneurs who have started training on ICT skills and especially on basic computer and accounting skills.
