Tanzania:Veteran politician Kingunge is no more

Politician Kingunge Ngombale Mwiru has passed away at Muhimbili National Hospital NMH) in Dar es Salaam, his son Kinje Ngombale has confirmed.

Kinje didn’t give more details over the demise of the politician who worked with Founding Father, Mwalimu Julius Nyerere in founding Tanganyika African National Union and Chama cha Mapinduzi (CCM).
Kingunge was admitted to the facility after being bitten by dogs at his home in Dar es Salam. Born in 1930, Kingunge was a loyal CCM cadre until 2015 when he defected to opposition.
Last month, the politician’s wife Peras Kingunge died.
