South Africa’s Minister for
Tourism, Madam Tokozile Xasa has said Tanzania has lots of potential for
investment in the meeting and business tourism industry, saying
stunning Serengeti was one such a world class tourism attraction.
Speaking shortly after opening
this year’s Meetings Africa event at Standton Convention Centre here,
the Minister said Tanzania was one of the country with untapped meeting
and business tourism potential.
“Tanzania has a lot of potentials
and I have heard of Serengeti as one of the stunning world
class
tourism facility” the Minister noted as she visited Tanzania Stand
pavilion.
The Minister also seizure the
opportunity to ask the Representatives of Arusha International
Convention Centre on whether they were benefiting from the meeting show
to address the meeting and business industry challenges.
“do you think this trade show is
helping you to unlock some of the meeting industry challenges in
Tanzania” the Minister asked as she admired Tanzania’s motto “land of
Kilimanjaro, Zanzibar and Serengeti” on display at the stand.
Tanzania has sent a strong
delegation in this international exhibition. Participants include Arusha
International Conference Centre, Julius Nyerere international
convention Centre and Tanzania Tourism Board (TTB).
Others are the Arusha Based Mouth
Mero Hotel, Ngorongoro Conservation authority and Studio-red, a Public
Relations and Event facilitators in Tanzania.
“we are here to represent AICC
and JNICC as the best facilities for world class meetings and
exhibitions” said Linda Nyanda, the Principal Conference and Research
Officer at AICC.
Meetings Africa is an
International event trade show being held annually at Standton
International Convention Centre in heart of Johannesburg, South Africa
pitting a number event planner, conference facility buyers and
exhibitors.
