Electronic manufacturer Samsung has expanded its portfolio in the entry-level smartphone market with the Grand Prime Pro 2018.
Targeting
the mass market, the Sh14,499 device is banking on its new camera and
design improvements from the earlier versions of the device to make
sales.
“The performance of the devices within the
segment will enable Samsung to retain market leadership in the midst of
growing competition from new entrants in this segment,” said Patricia
King’ori, Head of marketing, citizenship and public relations at
Samsung.
The new device features a five-inch screen, an
8 megapixel back camera and a 5 megapixel front camera as well as added
features including smart Wi-Fi, dual messenger and 16GB internal
storage.
Concessions

Tecno,
Huawei, Infinix, Wiko and Nokia among other brands have posed stiff
competition to Samsung owing to their affordable prices tagged along
with quality technology.

Many
Kenyans are attracted to low-priced quality phones, heightening
competition against Samsung among consumers in this segment.
