THE government has announced recruitment of 3,033 primary and secondary school teachers to fill in the gaps created by the exercise to fish out those with fake certificates and ghost workers.
The recruitment that saw 2,767 primary
school teachers and 266 secondary school teachers being employed, will
see them reporting to their respective work stations from the 27th of
December, this year, until the 7th of January, next year.
Announcing the exercise during a press
conference in Dar es Salaam, yesterday, the Minister of State in the
President’s Office (Regional Administration and Local Governments
(TAMISEMI), Mr Suleiman Jafo said stern measures will be taken against
hired teachers who will collect allowances and leave their working
stations.
He added that the new teachers will
shift from one municipality to another in PREMIER Majaliwa accordance
with the law. “The names of recruited teachers announced today come
after the government advertised employment to fill the posts that were
left vacant by primary and secondary school teachers who were discovered
as ghost workers, alongside those with fake academic certificates,
early this year,” the Minister said.
The Minister pointed out that the
teachers who will be recruited will be required to report to the
Director’s office in the respective municipalities and thereafter to
their working stations. He explained that the teachers will not be
allowed to shift from one municipal council to another or one region to
another without permission from TAMISEMI.
He called upon municipal directors where
the new workers are located to receive them by adhering to all rules
and procedures of public servants and to provide feedback to TAMISEMI.
