THE new Mara Regional Commissioner (RC), Mr Adam Malima, has urged officials to provide best treatment to investors interested to invest different industries in the region.
Mr Malima repeatedly made the appeal
during his first working day in Tarime district on Tuesday evening. He
was impressed with efforts being made to establish several industries in
the district, but said giving investors best and fast services will
help the region attract more investors.
“Any incoming investors should not be
left to go away. Investors have options. They need better services,” Mr.
Malima insisted, saying that any official who will try to frustrate
investors will not be tolerated in the region.
A report submitted to the RC by Tarime
officials indicates that plans to establish several factories in the
district are progressing well. Mr Malima expressed satisfaction on the
prevailing peace and tranquility in Tarime, something which he said is
an important factor to attract investments.
“I am impressed with the peace and
security issues here (Tarime), and I also congratulate you for the
achievements you have attained in other areas, “Mr Malima said. The RC
was received by Tarime District Commissioner (DC), Mr. Glorious Luoga
and top district officials.
He also had an opportunity to speak to
Tarime district council and Tarime town council government experts and
assured them of good cooperation that will see Mara region making
strides on economic and social development. Among other things, the RC
said special attention will be given on efforts that will help double
agricultural products.
On the other hand, the RC warned local
government officials to stop cooking statistics on key sectors like
farming and livestock. Correct and realistic figures, he said, are
imperative in assessing performance of the economic sectors.
Mr Malima had already visited almost all
districts of the region soon after he was recently appointed as the new
Mara RC by President John Magufuli.
