The Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau (PCCB) said on Thursday it is seeing reduction in number of corruption cases in Local Government Authorities (LGA).
Anti-corruption watchdog Principal
Investigation officer, Mr Omary Nzaro, says the development is as a
result of the agency bold decision to set up Public Expenditure Tracking
Survey (PETS) units across the councils.
The rate at which the corruption rate
had drop but the officer told the national workshop on transparency and
accountability to senior officers in the LGAs held in Dodoma,
“authorities are recording positive trends in the fight against
corruption.”
The fifth phase government under President John Magufuli has embarked on evidently fighting corruption and graft in the country.
