Speaking at the six-day exhibition meant
to serve the Central Zone held at Umoja grounds in Kasulu District,
Kigoma Region, TBS Senior Marketing Officer, Ms Gladness Kaseka, said
the bureau has available opportunities to make it happen.
The exhibition which was opened by the
Minister of Industries, Trade and Investment, Mr Charles Mwijage, is
aimed at, among other things, educating and bringing awareness to
entrepreneurs on the TBS Standard mark opportunities.
She said the exhibition under the theme
‘the construction of industrial economies based on small industries, TBS
has successfully provided knowledge to more than 80 entrepreneurs
engaged in processing various products on the process of obtaining TBS
mark.
“We educate them on the need of having
the standard mark for their products and the government through TBS has
set aside between 50m/- and 100m/- annually to support them to attain
the mark freely,” said Ms Kaseka.
Mr Kaseka called on Kigoma residents to
ensure they use products branded by TBS mark in order to avoid fake
products. The regions that participated in the exhibition include
Dodoma, Singida, Tabora, Katavi, Kigoma, Manyara, Mwanza, Kilimanjaro,
Shinyanga and Simiyu.
