International fashion retailers LC
Waikiki and Woolworths are looking to grow their footprint in Nairobi by
opening additional stores at the Hub Mall in Karen before the end of
the year. The move is set to increase competition with other clothing
brands at the shopping centre.
Turkish fashion brand LC
Waikiki will open its second branch in Kenya in line with the group’s
plan of opening two more stores before the end of 2017.
Woolworths, a South Africa’s luxury fashion brand, will also open an additional store at the mall.
“The
opening of this store at The Hub Karen is in line with our policy to
expand the Woolworths brand and make our stores accessible to customers
in Nairobi,” said Woolworths in a statement.
LC
Waikiki opened its first sub-Saharan Africa outlet at Two Rivers Mall
at the beginning of the year and plans to have a third store in
Nairobi’s central business district.
“The stable
economy in Kenya has supported our investments as a gateway to growing
our footprint in the country and the larger African market,” said LC
Waikiki country manager Kremena Pencheva.
