Growing up, most children had a list of kids that their mothers did not want them associating with.
Our
mothers knew then as we hopefully know today that all our achievements,
conditions and
situations are resultant effects of how we think (or not).
situations are resultant effects of how we think (or not).
We are constantly thinking of the outcomes that
we eventually experience even when we are not aware of it. This is the
reason why we must endeavour to rein in our minds and direct our
thinking towards what we want rather than what we do not want.
You
see; negative thoughts feel bad and attract negative energy all around
us. These feelings are expressed in our body through the actions or
inactions that we are engaged. Our actions or inactions result in
outcomes one way or another. To know what our minds are focused on, all
we need to do is take a look at our outcomes.
Results don’t lie.
If
you take a good look around you, you’ll note that those who lack
confidence, are fearful and always worried are rarely on the northern
side of performance and achievement.
If we are to
change our situations we have got to start inside. We must first change
the ideas and notions that we entertain. When we change what is on the
inside, our thoughts, we automatically change what is on the outside -
our outcomes and situations.
The thoughts that we hold in our conscious mind and
have an emotional charge and if even slightly entertained, are delivered
into our subconscious mind.
Whether they are positive
or negative when they are emotionalised, these thoughts impress
themselves upon our subconscious mind. Many of us mistakenly dismiss the
subconscious as the backwaters of our thinking.
This
could not be further from the truth. It is the subconscious mind which
dictates our feelings and emotions. Our feelings and emotions then
direct us to physically act or not act to create the outcomes that we
experience as our lives.
We all know what to do to get
better results, we have just allowed ourselves to entertain ideas that
have over time set up roadblocks in our subconscious minds, which
prevent us from taking the necessary actions to achieve what we want.
The missing link to our achievement lies in the gap between what we know and what we actually do or fail to do.
Whatever
our current outcomes, we must bear in mind that they are not a
reflection of our potential. Our situations are nothing more than a
reflection of our previous thinking.
We have been so
conditioned to respond to our world through these senses, that when
praised, we feel good and yet in the next moment if we are criticised or
put down, we can instantly feel terrible.
What an
emotional roller-coaster we allow ourselves to ride all the way to
average lives! When seriously considering changing our lives we must be
careful cherry-pick who we listen to because they contribute to the
thoughts that we entertain.
If it is financial independence that we seek, we have got to learn at the feet of those who are financially free.
To become the voices of authority in our various fields, we must learn from the top performers in our fields.
We
have to be sure not to entertain advice from family, friends,
co-workers who are not achieving, living or breathing the results in
their lives that we seek. We are the sum total of the company we keep
because they influence our thinking.
