HIV prevention drugs now free for Kenyans

infected with HIV which killed 9,471 Kenyans last year, down from 11,131 the previous year.
PrEP, an oral HIV prevention pill, will be available for free in selected public hospitals and at Sh20 in private facilities.
“PrEP is only for HIV negative individuals at risk of HIV infection. It is 90 per cent effective if you adhere to taking it daily,” said Jackson Kioko, Director of Medical Services.
