Tanzania set to get up to about 240bn/- soft loan from France

French ambassador to Tanzania Ms Malika Berak in a meeting with the Vice President Samia Suluhu Hasan to brief the progress of the preparations of the forum to be held in Dar es Salaam in April this year.
FRENCH government through French Development Agency (AFD) has pledged to grant Tanzania soft loan ranging between 50 to 100 million Euro (about 240bn/-) annually for executing various development projects.

This was said in Dar es Salaam yesterday by the French ambassador to Tanzania Ms Malika Berak in a meeting with the Vice President Samia Suluhu Hasan to brief the progress of the preparations of the forum to be held in Dar es Salaam in April this year.
She said the funds would help the country implement various development projects particularly in water and environmental cleanness and power projects. Ambassador Berak told the Vice President that the business forum aiming at building and improving business ties between Tanzania and France was progressing well.
She said the forum will discuss in details investment opportunities particularly in areas of energy, transport, information and communication technology and development projects. The business forum will bring together Tanzania and French business community to exchange experiences necessary for the health of their businesses.
On her part, Vice President Samia Suluhu Hasan commended French government for the pledge to support development projects aimed at reducing poverty in the society.
She told the French ambassador that Tanzania remains committed and will maintain the friendly relation with France for the benefits of the people of the two countries.
Also VP commended the French government through its embassy in the country for organising the business forum that will bring together experts from various sectors to discuss on investment opportunities. She said the fifth government will continue to improve investment climate by among others fighting corrupt practices
