PRIME Minister Kassim Majaliwa has directed Karatu District Commissioner Theresia Mahongo to remove from the tender processes all companies owned by councillors and council’s employees to avoid conflict of interests. The Prime Minister issued the directives in Karatu District on the ongoing tour to Arusha Region.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister has called on civil servants to conduct self evaluation if they adhere to public code of ethics in executing their daily obligations.
“We don’t need public servants who are lazy, thieves and corrupt.
Anyone who fails to manage funds for development projects should resign oneself before measures are taken,” he emphasised.
Public servants should change mindset, work hard instead of lodging complains seeking sympathy from the people as the government will always do justice.
