DCB Commercial Bank has for the first time emerged the best financial institution in the country whose financial statements are prepared in line with internationally-recognised standards.
DCB emerged as the best financial
institution with the best well-audited financial statements – basing on
its financial records for the 2015/2016 financial year, according to the
National Board of Accounts and Auditors (NBAA).
NBAA presents awards annually to various
public and private institutions and companies which consistently
maintain the required financial records.
The banks Managing Director, Mr Edmund
Mkwawa said in Dar es Salaam yesterday that with the award from the
National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA), customers were
assured of safety of their money deposited in various DCB accounts.
According to him, the bank outshined other financial institutions for
the first time since NBAA launched the award in 2011.
“Since the launching of the award, our
bank has been getting the third position but we are glad that we are now
on the first position because of the quality of services to our
customers and the way we are preparing our financial statements,’’ he
said.
Mr Mkwawa added that the award was a
pride to the bank and that the bank was celebrating its achievements on
the bases of financial administration and the services provided to the
customers.
At the end of the year, Mr Mkwawa said the bank had recorded a commendable achievement in its 14 years of service provision.
Next year the bank shall mark its 15th anniversary.
DCB has nine branches in Dar es Salaam
and in February next year it expects to launch another branch in Dodoma.
With 32bn/- capital, the bank, through Agency Banking DCB gives its
customers a variety of services through over 300 agents as well as
mobile banking
