TRA to enlighten Chinese traders on tax matters

TANZANIA Revenue Authority (TRA) in collaboration with Chinese Embassy in Tanzania has organised a one-day seminar on tax matters and investments to Chinese traders to adhere and comply with tax laws.
TRA Director of Education and Taxpayer Services, Mr Richard Kayombo, said in Dar es Salaam yesterday that the seminar, to be held on Friday, this week, will help withholding taxes calculations on goods and services to increase tax compliance among Chinese communities.
“Various topics to be presented include changes to the budget in 2016/17, customs issues and removal of goods, withholding tax especially in the construction sector and employment tax,” Mr Kayombo said.
He said in the seminar to be graced by Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr Charles Mwijage and attended by China Ambassador to Tanzania, traders also will have the opportunity of asking questions and get clarification on various issues to enable them to conduct out their activities in accordance with the law and rules of the country.
“Over 200 Chinese trades especially from construction sector will attend the seminar.
All topics that will be presented is prepared by considering the importance of adding knowledge among of communities of Chinese traders and comply with the requirements of the law,” he said.
For his part, Jiteng Consultancy Limited Managing Director, Andrew Huang, said that the seminar will provide an opportunity to Chinese traders to understand rules and regulations of conducting business with Tanzania.
He called upon all Chinese traders to attend the seminar that will help them on improving their business and to promote China and Tanzania relationship the development of all.
