THE government said today good Samaritans donated 15.19bn/-for Kagera earthquake survivors in various ways, being materials, pledges, and cash.
A statement signed by Prime Minister and
Parliament, Permanent Secretary, Uledi Mussa, said cash at bank is
5.4bn/-, pledges 6.7bn/-, and mobile phone platforms 17.7m/-.
This makes a total of 12.1bn/-in ways of
pledges and cash. However, the government received 2.25bn/- worth of
food items such as maize flour, sugar, rice, maize, beans and the like.
In total the statement said the government needs 104.9bn/- to bring back Kagera to normal life.
