Brewing firm re-launches flagship larger brand

LUDOVICK KAZOKA
SERENGETI Breweries Limited (SBL) has re-launched its premium larger brand, Serengeti, in a new look as the company marks 20 years since its establishment.

SBL Managing Director, Ms Helene Weesie, told a press conference in Dar es Salaam yesterday that the re-launch of the beer brand was part of celebrations, saying the function were also meant to thank customers and the public at large for the immense support.
“We thank our customers, suppliers, distributors, private sectors organisations, the government and all other stakeholders, who have really supported us and walked with us through this exciting journey of success and achievements,” said the SBL Managing Director.
Serengeti Premium Larger, the first 100 per cent malt beer in the country, is a brain child of a Tanzanian brew master, Mr Winston Kagusa, who combined a German beer brewing receipt with a Tanzanian local twist to arrive at the brand.
According to Ms Weesie, the beer was first produced targeting a niche market and its overwhelming reception in the market convinced the brewing company to expand production by establishing two additional breweries in Mwanza and Moshi.
Throughout the 20 years, the managing director said, the brand has evolved with different label designs that reflect the time and address key consumer needs while maintaining the same great taste
