The meeting which expects Tanzania to
assume the Chairmanship of the organ today was preceded by a meeting
involving South Africa, Mozambique and Tanzania.
The Heads of States discussed security
explosion in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Madagascar and
Lesotho as well as requests by Burundi and Comoro to join SADC.
Tanzania is represented by

International Cooperation, Dr Augustine Mahiga, Minister for Industry,
Trade and Investments, Mr Charles Mwijage and Revolutionary Government
of Zanzibar Minister for Trade, Industry and Markets, Ms Amina Salum

Official launch of the 36th SADC Troika summit is slated for today.
The meeting is expected among other things to award students for an outstanding essay regarding the bloc.
