NHIF announces surgery benefits for members


The National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) has announced a surgical benefit package to its members to ease the cost of healthcare in the country.

The National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) has announced a surgical benefit package for its members to ease the burden of healthcare.

The new package will deal with major, minor and specialized surgeries including cancer surgeries.
Major surgeries in level 3, 4 hospitals will be upto a maximum of Sh80,000 and in level 5,6 health care facilities up to a maximum of Sh130,000 on pre-authorization basis and specialised treatment upto a maximum of Sh500,000, the fund said in a statement signed by board chairman Mohmud Ali.
